Delete your Yomp account

Last updated: 5 Aug 2026

There are two ways to delete your Yomp account. They remove the same data. Use whichever suits you.

How to delete your accountWhen it takes effect
Sign in at www.yomp.dog or in the Yomp app, open the Me tab, and choose Delete account.Immediately.
Email hello@yomp.dog from the address your account is registered to, and ask us to delete your account.Within one calendar month.

The email route needs no app and no sign-in. It is a complete alternative, not a fallback — if you would rather not sign in, or sign-in will not complete on your device, email us and we will delete the account for you.

What deletion removes

Both routes run the same erasure. The following are deleted outright:

  • Your Yomp sign-in account, so you can no longer sign in.
  • Your profile and your dogs’ profiles — names, breeds and age groups.
  • Your username, which is released for reuse.
  • Your photos — your own avatar, your dogs’ avatars, and any photos you uploaded to a venue listing you manage.
  • Your saved places.
  • Your saved walks, including their routes and waypoints.
  • Your individual votes on venue attributes — dogs inside, enclosed garden, water bowls, dog treats, on-lead only.
  • Any venue claim you submitted, including the name, role and business email address you gave with it.
  • Any venue listing you manage — your ownership record and every edit you published to it, such as your welcome message, dog status and amenities.
  • Any events you submitted or organise through Yomp.
  • Your record of interest in features that are not yet released.
  • Your push-notification token.
  • Your sign-in audit log — the timestamps and truncated user-agent strings recorded when you signed in.

What is kept, and why

Two things survive deletion. Both are community data that other people rely on, and neither carries your name, email address or profile.

  • Aggregated venue attribute scores. Your individual votes are deleted, but the totals they contributed to are not recalculated. They stay in the aggregate on each venue listing and are no longer linked to your account.
  • Venue reports you submitted. The report itself is kept, because Yomp counts reports to work out when a venue has closed. Your account reference on the report is removed. One residual remains, and we would rather state it than leave it out: the report’s internal document identifier still contains your account ID.

Before you delete

Deletion cannot be undone. There is no recovery period and no archived copy to restore from — once the erasure has run, the account and its data are gone. If you want a copy of your data first, email hello@yomp.dog and ask before you delete.

Deleting your Yomp account does not delete your Google or Apple account. It only ends your Yomp account and removes the data listed above.
